Jury Award 10.5 Million to Accutane Victim

The lawyers and staff of Ennis & Ennis P.A. would like to congratulate attorney Mike Hook and his staff for their tremendous verdict in the amount of $10.5 million for a 24 year old Utah woman who was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis after taking Accutane. This has been a well kept dirty secret by the manufacturer Hoffman-La Roche for many years. We are glad to see these cases come to light and hopefully the word will spread to teenagers and young adults who are still on the drug or are thinking of taking the drug. We have been working with Mike and his staff since 2003 on these cases and it has been a long hard fight. The manufacturer has stonewalled the litigants time and again and it is good to see these cases finally get to trial and let the truth come out. Mike and his team have won 3 straight trials in New Jersey state court in the amount of $2.5 million, $7.5 million and yesterdays verdict of $10.5 million. We are convinced, based on our research, that there are many more victims out there who have not correlated their illness to the drug accutane. Accutane has received much publicity for side effects including depression, suicide and birth defects. The real dark secrets lie in the correlation between accutane and IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn's, Liver and Kidney damage. Ennis & Ennis, P.A. is still offering free nationwide consultations to victims of accutane by calling 1-800-856-6405 or visiting our website http://www.the-accutane-lawyer.com and filling out our free online case evaluation form.

I have seen a lot of information about this drug causing lots of horrible side effects. I originally found this drug on http://www.medication-side-effects.info which is a great site for finding out about harmful drugs and is how I found out about the Ennis law firm. I originally started researching Accutane for my sister who was taking it. Thank God she has not had any of the more serious side effects. However it has caused her hair to thin considerably.

TJ thanks for the comments. I am glad to hear your sister has not had any life threatening or life changing side effects. We have received numerous calls about hair thinning or hair loss. Make sure she tells her Dr. about this and get a recomendation from them about what to do for the hair thinning. To keep updated on accutane news feel free to refer to ennislaw.com or the-accutane-lawyer.com. Tell your sister good luck.

My name is Amanda Nourse and i would like to show you my personal experience with Accutane.

I have taken for 6 days. I am 27 years old. My dermatoglogist put me back on Accutane partially because Klaron, Rentin A, & Doxycyclin were NOT working....I have been on Accutane before about 7 years ago so not too concerned about the side effects. With my previous run on this medicine I didn't have the severe back aches. I will say I did have tons of issues registering with the IPledge website...all too confusing all to combersome! Didn't have to do that 7 years ago. Since this is my 2nd go round I can say that for me there were no depression issues because my skin looks awesome ...tons of compliments. As with all things once I stop so will the side effects. This medication is obviously for those with severe acne so you should certainly weigh the pros vs. the cons...for me I didn't think twice...

    Side Effects :
I've been on Acutane for 6 days now & I will say my back is aching terribly & my lips are DRY!

I hope this information will be useful to others,
    Amanda Nourse

Hello Amanda this is attorney David Ennis and thank you for your comments on our blog. We welcome our readers to post comments on their experience with medications like accutane. As long as you are aware of the side effects prior to taking the medication and have severe acne then you are making an informed decision which is what we are all striving for. Unfortunately many of our clients took this medication years ago and the manufacturer did not warn of all the side effects and many of our clients suffer from IBD, Crohns and Ulcerative Colitis. I am glad you are not having any side effects and please keep our readers posted of your personal expeience on the drug, Best of Luck.
